
The success of the 2016 film surprised many when it was initially released. While firmly entrenched in the X-Men cinematic universe, Wade Wilson's language would most certainly be toned down in any X-Men movie rated for more general audiences. While Deadpool has not been featured in any X-Men team films to date, the character has appeared alongside or battled against other mutants such as the steel skinned Colossus, the cybernetic time-travelling Cable and the mutant powerhouse known as The Juggernaut.
